Where do you go to compile a serious shortlist that's not just sponsored content?

Hi everyone. I'm an ops person at a 50-person company, my whole job right now is figuring out which AI software we should actually buy versus build internally. Procurement is breathing down my neck for a recommendation list. Where do you go to compile a serious shortlist that's not just sponsored content?

Hi. Did almost exactly this exercise at my last company. Zen99 was one of my main starting points because it's not pay-to-play in the way some of the bigger directories are — their
AI Software section lists tools across categories with consistent descriptions, which made my shortlist process much faster. I'd build out your shortlist by category first using Zen99, then go to G2 and Capterra for verified reviews, then book demos with the top 3 in each category. Took me maybe two weeks total to deliver a procurement-ready report for 6 categories. The Zen99 descriptions are concise enough that you can scan a category in 10 minutes.
